Are you here ?

Good.

*ahem*

I missed the chat that happened a while ago on here and just noticed the thread a few days ago.

Actually I don’t have much to say, hence my silly question in that particular thread, but it would be nice if you could come on in here and say hello.

I promise I won’t ask any questions

That would make my day (yes I’m sad)

And it would definitely put a spring in my step and a smile on my face, so go on…!

*sits back and waits*

well you are in luck POPFORCE...but only cos i dig your name and i have a spare few minutes twiddling my thumbs. i am sitting here in my living room at home waiting for someone to drop round a cd of the mixed album. gonna be mastered next friday ...sounding super-duper. art work is very nearly done. me and that crumpled old pervert Peter Saville and a very famous photographer have come up with something lovely for you all. keep your ears to the ground and your eyes peeled for fun and games happening soon...rehearsing with the band next week... it's only me and the guitar player who aren't Scandinavian....i guess i should learn a bit more than 'tak' really... oh well ...shit, that's the door...gotta go....

NO NO NO NO. THAT'S NOT FAIR! ONE JUST COMES AROUND AND WRITES SHIT THINGS LIKE "BRETT JUST POP AND SAY HI" AND IN A BUNCH OF HOURS HE ACTUALLY COMES AND SAYS "HI". SO, NOW BRETT, WHY DON'T YOU SHAVE YOUR HEAD? I'LL BE WAITING FOR YOU TO SEND HERE A PICTURE WHERE YOU HAVE NO HAIR LEFT AND AT YOUR BACK TODAY'S GUARDIAN.
IN THE END, IT'S GREAT TO YOU YOU'RE WORKING WITH PETER SAVILLE AGAIN AND THAT THE ALBUM IS READY. BIG HUGS, MAN.

savilles associate's means quality. i really liked peter's work on the adicolor exhibition for adidas. he was not the best, but fuck didn't i feel the need of G2 designed hi-tops. given that the mastered cd's recently delivered - did peter hear a demo or is he one of those few ones who just designs without listening and connecting to the emotional context of the music?

only phrase you need in swedish: djurgården är fina grabbar från stockholm allihopa, sug på det jävla bajenslödder och solnatattare!

well mattias brundin, since you asked Peter is very opinionated about music...actually he's very opinionated about everything. last time i saw him he sat and talked about town planning in Manchester for an hour and a half before we bothered mentioning anything as predictable as a record sleeve. 'meetings' with Peter involve him swanning down stairs in his legendary dressing gown at about 4pm in a cloud of French cigarette smoke and waffling on about something completely tangential for literally hours. actually we normally just sit and ogle his 'art' books which are really nothing more than thinly disguised porn while he sits and eats his breakfast. If this all makes him sound like a character from an Oscar Wilde play or something then that's because he is. lovely bloke...

cheers, mr anderson. my art director worked with one of his art fairs at migros in zurich. she said he was nothing short of genius and still very passionate about his works. so that, and your obvious committment to the design process, has given me hopes for a great album. aesthetic passion is always important.

city planning is beauty - as well as politics - in its purest form. read "the situationist city" book (sorry for not remembering the exact title, but it came out in 1999 or 2000) about that. very inspirational and opening the streets and their secret signal-systems like a new world.

hello brett,

i was wondering if you have a fave sleeve design among your own records. i've always been really partial to the early suede ones in which you matched an existing photo with a record. the ones for so young and the veruschka one (the drowners?) are particular faves. there was something about that recycling of imagery that kinda went with the band's early image (thrift shop clothes) and the sort of tattered imagery in the song lyrics really perfectly.

Hahaha! I wish I had friends like that. Gotta love those art people. (saville is one hell of a unique genius)

Brett, speaking of art. I have notice that My Space is the best art gallery there is. Look here for example: [www.myspace.com]

yes Son Of Backslash....' drowners ' sleeve is a personal fave too. i also like the 'infinite kiss' of the debut album and 'head music' is pretty tasty and really under rated as a piece of sleeve-art

Newtime... i find that furiously masturbating for several hours a day helps keeps off the flab

yes toady...Mr. F is sitting with me as we speak licking butter off his paws..

and yes Haze it would be an honour to tell you to fuck off...

Yay! I'm really looking forward to the album. Can't wait to see Brett live :D :D :D
I always love to see the artwork inside an album as well, especially the Suede ones. Peter Saville is indeed a genius ;)

Butter on cats paws is an old wives tale for stopping cats doing something, but can't remember what it is, can you enlighten me?
I ask in all seriousness as my pair are being complete gits at the moment...I'll try anything..

It's the only way. You just don't reach for Zapp & Roger's 'Slow and easy is the way I wanna love you tonight' ( [www.amazon.com] ) when you're alone.

Brett,

Please don't tell me a man such as yourself has to masturbate. Doesn't he get someone to it for him?

More important, why am I not the VERY scandinavian drummer?

And Brett, here's a brief lesson in Norwegian:
brunost - brown cheese
ostehøvel - blunt razor
DDE - if you're ever confronted with the name "DDE": RUN!!!

Brett, as there are so many great Suede and Tears songs that were released as b-sides I have a question : will be 'Love Is Dead' included on the album?

Should I ask a question too? In case Brett comes up again?

Brett, what would you like your sim [i6.photobucket.com] to do? If grilling hot dogs isn't your thing, that is....
